Nothing Warms Like an Open Fire

Click Photo to Enlarge
I haven't been able to get really warm all day. About an hour ago I lit a fire and now I'm toasty. Why did I wait so long? Webster has been fed and walked in the 18 degree temperature and my soup is warming on the stove. All's right with our world. Tabitha has one of the sofa cushions properly squished and she's fast asleep in her nest. We are watching a repeat of last night's edition of Charlie Rose. It comes on at 5pm on PBS and that's what I usually watch until the nightly news.

What a lovely toasty fire Rosemary...
Soup sounds great...on this cold frosty day...
We are sitting at -15c here...
The deep freeze for sure...

Enjoy your evening...

Cheers!

Simply gazing at your photo warms the body and the soul. A bowl of soup eaten in front of this fire = comfort to the max.
I hope you can stay put for the rest of the evening, Rosemary, except perhaps, for one last quick dash out with Webster.
Good night,
Linda

Love your fire! We are getting down to 2 below tonight here in Connecticut. I am aspiring to a wood burning stove. Hopefully we will have it by next winter! I love your cozy world.

I love your description of your cozy cottage tonight. Hugs to you, Webster & Tabitha.

Sitting beside a hearth with a roaring fire and sipping tea is one of life's greatest pleasures. We converted our fireplace to gas logs and it's just not the same. The dogs don't seem to notice the difference, though. They'll sleep for hours in front of it, not discriminatory at all! -- Jan

I'm sitting by a fire also, it's not quite as cold here as where you are but it's the coldest it's been all winter.

I'm relieved to know that you, Webster and Tabitha are all snug and warm at the cottage. Soup for dinner, yum!

I'm heading West on Friday, it's been bitterly cold where I'm heading but should start warming up into the 30's by the time I get there.....thank goodness.
