Oh I hope it is still standing also Rosemary. I love to see old homes restored and given a new dream. I saw a program on PBS where they were talking about all the old manor homes in England that were torn down because no one could afford them anymore, how tragic!

According to the National Register of Historic Places (online at: http://www.hpo.ncdcr.gov/nr/HX0008.pdf - An application for another historic home, Oakland, said, "of the group at Airlie including Prospect Hall, the Reid-Williams-Macon house, and Oakland, only the latter remains. It's sad to lose these historic homes. It seems like we lose more and more...
