My Mom has Become The Sleeping Beauty

Today is the second day my mother has been in an unresponsive deep sleep. She looks as beautiful as ever and very peaceful. I hope she knows when I'm there watching over her. Painting by Sir Edward Burne-Jones

she knows you are there...my mother did this twice and we asked her afterwards...the third time we couldn't...but we knew she knew we were there...
my heart goes out to you Rosemary...you are a wonderful daughter and you have done all that you can do...and you will continue to as long as she needs you. Look after yourself...

There can be no doubt. She knows that you are there and this likely is why she is so peaceful.
Thinking of you and Anna.

Even in this deep sleep many feel one is heard so don't hesitate to speak to her.

Many believe there's hearing, even in this deep sleep, so don't hesitate to speak to her.

I am sure she knows. Thoughts and prayers with you, your mom, Webster and Tabitha. I enjoy your blog and have always appreciated the care you seem to take of your mom. You will never regret it. Hang in there-

This quotation above is from Linda ahead of me in line here. I agree wholeheartedly with Linda, and thank her so much for saying this so beautifully.

such beauty and grace. both of you. your mom giving you the gift of letting you take care of her. you giving the gift of care. her giving you the gift of rest. you resting while she is cared for. the love flowing between the two of you while she sleeps. all of the beautiful love.

Yours is a beautiful friendship, a lasting restful friendship and I think she finally understands what you've given her....a peacefulness beyond measure.

Rosemary, my mother does the same thing. She is up and alert for two, maybe three, days. Then she basically conks out for as many or more days. She rises again like a phoenix, and is good for a few days and it starts all over again. It has been like this for two years. Mother is now 99 and will be 100 in July
Just talk to her when she is asleep. I do think Mother hears me.
