Individual Pot of Warm Apple Pie

Such a great recipe with butter pecan crust. Are you drooling yet? Makes 6 large pots. I pinned it here.

The pie makes me drool.

I was just catching up on my blog reading and am glad to hear you found a spot so quickly in a wonderful nursing home that is so near to you. Your peace of mind will be restored soon enough.

Rosemary, I know this was hard. When my mother had too to a nursing home from a hospital stay my sisters, who live near her, were really torn up in having to do it but truthfully she needed more care than they could give, and both of them had jobs. And she could not be left alone. As it turned out, she has not been able to go back to her home but has come to feel that the home is her home and even when they check her out for special occasions she is anxious to go back. My sisters also visit her constantly and think that doing so ensures better care, but she seems to be the darling of the staff. When they leave sometimes, especially at first, they have to wipe the tears away as they're walking to their car but it's getting easier. The smile she gives them when they walk in the door says it all. Physically she is able to take pretty good care of herself but her memory is declining and she was not getting her meds right or remembering to cook and eat well. We are all fortunate that there are two of them to share this ongoing responsibility. Your mother's situation may be entirely different from ours but I'm sure you know that so many people today do know what you're going through.

OH this is a wonderful looking dessert - I am definitely going to make them soon. Thanks for the lovely blog - I've been wandering about in the blog posts this morning. I recently had back surgery and am on partial rest - which can turn uninteresting if there isn't something good at hand to entertain me - but I crochet a while and read blogs - and yours has been wonderful - I shall return many times.

I appreciate your connection and love for your mother - not all of us have had the special pleasure that you two enjoyed together - it is heart warming. Thank You!
