Tree Almost Over the Road @ My Cottage

This tree is in the parkland next to the cottage. The power lines are the only things keeping it from falling across the road. My power went off twice but came back on. YIKES.

I'm still in my pajamas. I decided not to get dressed today. I opened my front door for these photos.

I hope the big black walnut tree stays upright and doesn't fall on my car.

The authorities already knew about this when I called it in.

Be safe wherever you are. I'll keep posting as long as I have electricity.

Stacey....I didn't even go outside. I took those photos from the vestibule. All I did was open the door.

Diane---the only fear I have is losing power.

Thanks for your concern everyone!!!

i know it's treacherous and scary.
but look how beautiful it is where you live!
oh rosemary. to live in a park.
or across from one.
and the low stone wall . . .
i'm in love with your place!
i wish they could take the poor tree down before it really does some damage to those lines.
but it would be too dangerous probably.
be safe! and warm!
and enjoy that mac n cheese!

Be safe, I will assume that as you did not post tonight that you have lost power. Be well, we are thinking of you in the storm.

It's a bit unnerving I'll bet now that it's dark and you are not able to see any changes but only focus on the wind.
I hope your household will be able get a bit of sleep in spite of Sandy's wrath and that when you wake and daylight comes you will find that she has begun to move on without leaving behind any more damage.

Rosemary,
So glad to hear you're safe...let's hope the worst of it for you and your little cottage is that tree that is threatening to fall.

Can't imagine how frightening it must be at night when the wind is howling. Just hunker down, stay warm and take care of each other. My best to Mr. Webster and your mom too.

Hello!

I have been thinking of you for the last few days! Obviously you have no power but we will be waiting for your return.

I hope you are safe and the cottage is well. Prayers for you and your adorable Webster.

Glad you're okay and hunkering down today, Rosemary. I'm kind of doing the same. Our power just came back on this morning, so I'm playing catch-up on all the news.

Take care!

We experienced rain and fairly high wind in Ohio. Were sure shocked to find out our 34 year old pine tree (a Christmas tree) was uprooted and fell on top of the pool. We didn't hear it fall. Even more sad was the cost of removing it today! You live in a lovely area. Sara
