A Bed of Impatiens

I photographed a bed of impatiens outside a store in a depressing strip mall recently. They were trying their hardest to beautify the place and they did. I took this photo with my iPhone and made it into an etching to tone it down a bit. That's the thing about annuals -- they aren't at all bashful about being all they can be!

That's an amazing representation of impatiens as a photographic etching! I love it! Best, Judy

These little blooming beauties are great to pot up for the winter. Prune them back and by Thanksgiving they'll be blooming again. Kept a double for almost 4 years. Out in the summer shade and into a southern window during the cold.

Your photos are wonderful. I always look forward to them.
The flower person in me feels it necessary to say that these are Periwinkle/Vinca. A little more rugged than impatiens.
Thank you for what you do.

Dale from Avon....

Thank you for your kind words.

These did look very hardy.

Good to know. I never would have thought of doing this. You are tempting me to go back to the shopping center and dig some up :)
