Montauk Long Island

I love the unassuming country drive with the grass growing up the middle, don't you? The shingle style homes from the Hamptons to Montauk are fabulous. Are you enjoying the last few days of August? via

This seems like a fine example of the architecture on Long Island. It looks like a fabulous place to visit and ogle the houses :)

The driveway vegetation has an air of "beachiness". I can imagine water just over the rise beyond the house and can almost hear the call of sea birds.

A pretty place to be in all seasons I would think.

I truly AM enjoying the last days of August. There's eight of us ladies who play Bunko together occasionally. When we got together tonight, doors and windows were wide open, and we enjoyed wonderful still-warm berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream--the berries just picked yesterday in her yard. Ah, summertime is fantastic.

Gail...

Your Bunko party must have been fun and the warm berry cobbler a la mode sounds scrumptious. Yes, summer is grand.

Vicki...

Even without a description you would know this house was on the ocean.

the long island "cottage" and the description of gail's bunko evening with friends... a perfect ending!
as i write this the sound of children playing is wafting through my open windows... yes. summer delights.

Your sounds are lovely too.

Gail's gathering of friends sounded like loads of fun.

August is almost over.
