Kitchen Table on a Monday Morning

My kitchen looks as if a cyclone when through. Does your kitchen table act as the collection point for things to put away, throw away or deal with like mine does? What a mess!

Thank you, Rosemary. It's heartening to know others are plagued with the same insanity. Why can't things get beyond the dining room table? It's usually junk mail and the newspaper that provide the seed for other careless offerings...my purse, books, small purchases (like a bottle of upholstery cleaner with its receipt I want to return...now, why isn't that in my car?) And it isn't as though I don't appreciate a pretty table. I do. I just don't see it very often or, if I do, it's fleeting. You've struck a chord with me this morning but seeing your table is a comfort.

I have a bench that is our collector....purse, shopping bags coming in and going out, coats waiting to be hung in the coat closet only three steps away, etc. I think we all have our spot.

Looks fairly normal to me :-)

THANK YOU for showing 'real life' on your blog. My husband is the culprit in our house - lunch box, school papers (he's an instructor), newspapers, brief case . . my 'Fall' theme is buried:)

Ohhhhh I could give your kitchen table a run for its money! In fact this past Saturday I refused to allow myself to eat breakfast until I dealt with the mess on my kitchen table. Needless to say I missed breakfast - but did have a lovely lunch on my beautifully decluttered farmtable!

You have a Trader Joe's. You are disqualified from complaining. :-)

Rosemary,
As Bonnie said, we all have our spots. Besides, you mentioned you worked this weekend, trimming and such...you're entitled to a wee mess. :-)

it's not my kitchen table that does this... I have a chest that stores quilts in the corner and the top of that gets full of items during the week ; ) I always tell myself it helps me orgaize my little universe to have it all out in the open! :)

Flat surfaces beg to be dumped on in my house. I keep a long flat basket on my kitchen table that all paperwork and other items get thrown into, I call it my desk basket. It's amazing how high I can pile stuff into that basket. I think your table looks normal and reflects the life a very active household. Was it Erma Bombeck who said, "A perfectly clean house means a boring person lives in it"!?
