Water Over The Dam on Irene Sunday

This is the waterfall around the corner from me near Piggy's house. I found the photo on the Chatham Patch. Now do you understand why I am upset by even a little rain? The grass you see on the left is normally an open field. A quiet country road is under the red truck. Click here to view the lake behind the waterfall.

This is a photo of a local dog swimming through the parking lot of the Minisink Swim Club in Chatham. I hope he was just going for a recreational dog paddle without a membership badge and got ashore safely.

Wow - our hearts go out to everyone affected by the impolite Miss Irene. The dog looks like a strong swimmer!

Oh Rosemary, how terrible. We're getting rain all week down here in old Virginny. I sure hope it doesn't end up in New Jersey too. And there is poor Texas, so in need of rain and on fire, it's all very worrisome. Our sump pump has been running non-stop for the past couple of days but we are not even close to having the problems and dire situations that we've viewed in the Northeast. Stay safe and don't drive through deep water like that truck.

I hope you soon find some relief from the rain. I, too, am hoping the dog made it where she going. Irene has certainly left her signature. Bonnie

Rosemary,
How sad...I pray the rain no longer drops on your region and diverts to Texas where our kids are experiencing a terrible drought.
Stay safe and I pray this weather calms down soon.

I had no idea, Rosemary. No wonder you're worried. You have every right to be.

Oh I understand. Several years ago we had a flash flood. Within minutes people were actually swimming their cars. Two poor souls drown in their garage trying to get the darn cars out. We can get pretty comfortable thinking the unthinkable won't happen. If you saw there area where this happened you just wouldn't believe that could happen...it did :( I fully understand your stress. Your in my prayers

Rosemary, I read backwards from your most recent entry to this one. Oh, my! I can appreciate your concern or is it panic. May the the rain and water subside very soon or, at best, may the rain slow enough for some of the water to settle if indeed there is anywhere for it to go.
My thoughts are with you. Do be safe. You come BEFORE your property.
