Bone Dry This Morning

I am thrilled to report that my utility room on the lower level is  bone dry this morning after a night of rain. I found some little 'sand bags' in the attic yesterday that I got at a tag sale. They are actually draft dodgers for under the door. I positioned them outside where I thought the water was entering. My trench across the street is a small stream so it is working too. All in all I'm very happy and now I can concentrate on other things. Thanks for all of your comments offering encouragement.

I love this southern house in Washington Virginia designed to catch the breeze found here.

Did the county engineer with the road department ever get to you? If so, I'll bet he was amazed at what you had accomplished!

Nice work, Rosemary. The intense rain here, lends hope that the clouds will be rung dry by the time they pass over the Cottage.

I'm so glad you're okay - I grew up in Summit, so hearing from you is like news from home. But sheesh, not good news these days. Glad your basement is finally dry.

Rosemary, I'm so sorry you had such a disaster to deal with. So glad you managed it all, and can now devote all your free time to this delightful blog!

Hi Rosemary,
Glad to hear your dry and safe. Wow, it's amazing how mother nature can throw these weird weather patterns. Poor Texas can't get a drop and your neck of the woods is inundated! Phew.

Oh good! Glad you are dry. Nothing like water in the home to dampen spirits.
