Poppies always remind me of my mother. When I was young my mum grew Lilacs, Iris, Red Poppies and Hollyhocks in our yard. I just loved them. We moved when I was nine and she was not able to grow them in our new home or maybe didn't want to grow them again. I was just visiting with one of my sistes's this past week and she had Hollyhocks that were thriving and I confess I was jealou. They just wilt here in Virginny. This summer everything is wilting and burning up.
