Your House As Seen By Others in the Real Estate Community

Your house as seen by you.

Your house as seen by a potential buyer.

Your house as seen by a lender.

Your house as seen by an appraiser.

Your house as seen by the Tax Assessor.

I just got this in the form of a forwarded message and had to share. Hilarious!

No Maintenance House

I'm off to an office meeting this morning with open house tours beginning at 11:00. I've been saving photos of this house that sold not too far away from me several years ago because it looks to be very low maintenance. I like the design too. No shutters, brick exterior, nothing to paint, slate roof. I like it, don't you? I wasn't that crazy about the interior so I didn't save any of those photos. I'm sure the fall leaves are somewhat of a problem inside the fenced patio area. I guess nothing is 100% maintenance free.

A Cat Named Pudding

This photo is wonderful, isn't it? I love a solid gray cat. These amber eyes are amazing and so expressive too. She looks pretty demanding I must say. Found on Flickr

Out of Control Book Collecting

A remodel for the books -- A St. Louis Park bibliophile and his wife bought the house next door to tear it down and expand their own. Instead, they kept both houses, joined the two structures and turned an entire house into a library. Read entire article here. It's a really great story about saving a house too. I love reading about book collectors, don't you?

Back to School Supplies = Love

This was one of my favorite times of the year when I was a kid. I loved getting back to school supplies and organizing my book bag for the first day of school. Butterflies in my stomach and all I can vividly remember the excitement. I still love a stack of sharpened pencils and office supplies of all kinds. I use that domino on the windowsill as a bone folder for paper crafts. My pencils are sticking in an antique Fulper Pottery Arts and Crafts flower frog.

Sheep Clog Tunnels in Italy

You have to click on this photo to see it bigger. Isn't this Italian shepherd amazing? Can you imagine if you were in a car behind this flock and had to get through? Forget it. The sheep got there first. Italian sheperd Luigino Balzan and his flock are reaching San Boldo pass. Quite a feat for 2 men and 2 dogs. Found on Flickr. So this is how the sheep get to the other side of the mountain. Who knew?

German Chocolate Cake Recipe

This was always the most requested birthday cake in my family when I was growing up. My mother always baked one for us. This year I think I will bake one for her in October for her 90th birthday. It will remind us both of the old days. German Chocolate Cake Recipe.

So Many Perfectly Arranged Pictures

I love the treatment of these gallery walls going up the stairs. White walls, white mats, white frames, white banister and railings with the images being the only color. Simply stunning. Have a great Sunday. via

I'm fascinated by what people do with the space under the stairs. I love this toast and tea nook with the tiled back wall, don't you? Have a wonderful weekend.

Desk Under The Window In My Pantry

I promised to show you how wonderful my old drafting table looks in my walk-in pantry. The space is small and very difficult to photograph but these images will give you an idea of how very wonderful it is to have a desk under a window. I love to sit in this room and read magazines and cookbooks. It's nice to be able to look out the window and see people walking or bike riding past the cottage. I have a good view of the birdbath in the garden too. My antique opera glasses are perfect for getting a closer look at my feathered friends. I put my favorite desk accessories and pretty things in there and I'm having fun switching them around. Pretty soon I'll be nesting in there for the winter. There is a small radiator under the hanging red cupboard -- you can see it in the first and last pictures. Click to enlarge any image. I'm so happy with this new arrangement. Everything seems fresh and new but nothing is. When you put your old things in new places you see them with new eyes.
