Goodnight, Time For A Movie

I'm about as tired as this pile of spotted puppies sleeping on the painter's drop cloth. Think I'll pop a movie in the DVD player and enjoy the evening. Sleep tight when you turn in. See you tomorrow, Rosemary.

Mattie Lou O'Kelley | Spring Paintings

Mattie Lou O'Kelley didn't start painting until she was 60. This self-taught Georgia artist was quite prolific until her passing at age 89 in 1997. Read her obituary in The New York Times.

She also wrote poetry, which was as homely as her canvases:

"Now my one room house has only me,
I never roam,
No lessons have I. But I paint
And paint
And stay at home."

Ginger | Antique Botanical Print

I never knew what ginger looked like. It's beautiful. I found this image in a magazine and photographed it. It's supposed to be 87 degrees today. Glad I got a jump on my mowing yesterday. I shall only work in the shade today. Have a good Saturday, Rosemary.
