Busted: Cottage Dog on Sofa

Caught in the act of sneaking on the sofa! If you look closely near the rug to the left of the throw you'll see a disgusting dirty mark on the skirt fabric. I was attempting to disguise it with this wonderful brown wool throw but Webster assumed I put it there for him. This spot on the rug is his favorite. He stands there and slides his front feet forward while leaning on the sofa...thus the long mark on the sofa frame of dirt and his body oils. I've cleaned it before and will again when I have time.

I got a new sofa (long story for later) in another part of the room where my mother and I were sitting enjoying our morning coffee. It is a big comfy one and Webster wanted to join us but wasn't allowed so he politely walked over to his "spot" and defiantly climbed up making eye contact the whole time as if to say, "I'll show you what I do when you're not around and I'll do it to the new one too when I get a chance."

I loved this! I smiled the whole time I was reading this.....remembering my wonderful JoJo-the worlds BEST dog and the time we discovered it was all a show. One day after we left, I snuck a peek back through the window--and saw her sneaking up onto the couch. While hubby went to the door and "fumbled with the lock", she would slink back down and get to her own bed, just in the nick of time. Clever clever animals!

How can you not love them when they do things like this. Sofa's can be cleaned....so can they!!! Look at those eyes and tell me you really don't care if he sneeks one in once in a while!!!! Webster, you can come and sit on my sofa anytime boy....

...i think what webster really does when you are not there is use the computer on the table in front of the sofa...he is probably reading about himself now...i came downstairs years ago and found our border collie sitting up perfectly in a wing chair by the fire...i think he was hoping i would bring him some tea...

Rosemary,
My dogs on the furinture drive me crazy, but I have allowed it, so be it. If I have a party or company coming, I call the carpet and furniture cleaners. That is how is works for us.

How funny. We can all relate to these dog stories. We have a golden retriever that my husband says is treated like "royalty" in our house. We often say she is the "Princess Diana" in the dog world. because we are constantly taking photos of her doing something adorable. I often take photos using my iphone and email them to our daughters in college. I usually get immediate responses of "awww" or "the poor baby"......

lol, those dogs; they are all the same... "give them and inch and they take a mile". At least at my house they do.

Webster is such a cutie. I think he thought he might be camouflaged on the blanket being the same color and all...;)
