Neglect In The Garden

I'm ashamed to say this is completely unstaged and accurately shows the condition of my garden. The weeds are winning and I don't even care. They are in the ground which is like concrete. I'm waiting for a rainy spell before I even consider trying to remedy the situation.

It's much the same in yard and garden right now, too! There has been so little rain this summer and we have had outdoor watering bans because of it, that some of my plants(and my growing green peppers, in particular) are looking a little less healthy these days.

The rains are so fickle this year-I haven't had rain in weeks, yet some areas have so much more than they can cope with.
My sandy soil is a dream to weed-even without rain, but it's so hot right now, my beds are a weedy mess too!
I'm looking forward to autumn, aren't you?
:)

I'm right there with you Rosemary!
First it was way too hot for me to work out there and then the rains came and came and came....many of my plants I counted on to just seed as usual never showed up but the weeds were everywhere flourishing. Strange year and I decided to just go with it!
Have a nice and happy weekend!

At least it makes for a beautiful picture!

Who would have thought the weeds could grow so well with the high temps we're having. The garden is almost done and most of the flowers are too, the weeds have won this year :D
