Hollyhocks Are Such Country Flowers

Wish I had hollyhocks here at the cottage. I had them one year and they never came back. I still have some seeds. Maybe I'll try again. Google images.

Rosemary,
I had scads of them, so thick I finally just pulled most of them up, as they were taking over the whole garden! I do love them, tho.

Rosemary

I was just thinking about them the other day. I have a place in my garden that I usually plant sunflowers, but I thought next year I would plant Holly Hocks, I remember having them as a child and I had forgotten about them.
Thanks for the pictures, I will do that.

I adore Hollyhocks. My mother grew them in her garden along with poppies. My sisters and I use to pinch off Hollyhock flowers and make them into dancing dolls. They don't grow very well here in Virginia due to humidity, heat and clay soil.

I adore Hollyhocks!
They're such an old fashioned flower. Makes me think of a white picket fences and victory gardens.
Thanks for the beautiful photos.
