Christmas Decorating Inside and Out

I don't know about you but after seeing these wonderful photos I am inspired to begin decorating the cottage for Christmas. I put my wreath on the door yesterday (last photo) and got out all of my decorations.

I usually don't begin this early but thought to myself, "Why not? 'Tis the Season!" Have you started yet? I got the wooden cranberry beads at a thrift shop yesterday and wrapped two strands around my vintage pinecone wreath. I had an extra stocking that I decided to hang outside to complete my door decor. Don't worry, I still have three more to hang inside at the fireplace for Santa to fill. One is for Webster, of course. Have a great day, Rosemary

I love your wreath with the stocking attached, Rosemary! Youre right ~ these pictures are quite inspiring. I can just see your fireplace decorated beautifully! I am just about done inside the house {keep moving things around though} and I need to get to the outside. Just cut some fresh greens off my trees and bushes yesterday afternoon, for a pot in front of my garage doors and spray painted some branches white.

Your wreath is beautiful! The stocking adds the most perfect touch! Great photos!

I love what you've done with your pinecone wreath! I have one also, and wanted to inject some color. Boring me-I could only think of a red bow! How clever wrapping beads like that.

Rosemary,

I've been out in Colorado for the past 3 weeks helping my youngest son and wife move into a new house. Lots of 18 hour days of lifting, painting, unpacking etc. I came home exhausted and suffering a bit of jet lag.

Yesterday I did manage to put up a Christmas tree despite my tiredness. For the last couple of years I've been decorating our largest tree with family history memorabilia. Old sepia photos (copies) and small items such as baby shoes, napkin rings, small mittens, cookie cutters, old letters, small stuffed toys and several other items. I've added old chandelier crystals and vintage gold and brown pine cone glass bulbs and glass glittered snow flakes....I love it. We had snow yesterday so it was the perfect day for trimming a tree.

I also enjoyed catching up on all your blog posts another fun treat on a snowy Saturday.
