Web Browsers explained [Video]

I wish somebody had explained web browsers to me years ago! I've always used Internet Explorer and was afraid to try anything else because I really didn't understand how simple and easy it would be to have more than one. I've been very unhappy with Explorer lately because it's soooo sloooow. I tried everything. I deleted old photos and old files in my documents, ran several programs to clean up the hard drive, defragmented, etc. and it was still slow. I decided to be brave and download Google Chrome and Foxfire. I am absolutely thrilled with Chrome because it's shockingly fast. Watch this short video and maybe you will get up enough nerve to download one too. It's good to have more than one browser; you can have several open at once and switch back and forth. Let me know which one is your favorite. Good luck!

"Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Thanks for stopping by the cottage for a computer lesson, fall artwork, and a quote. ♥Rosemary

I love Chrome but it gives me errors for whichever reason at times. FireFox is an excellent backup. IE users have definitely been left in the dark.

Good morning, Rosemary.
I use Safari and love it for its speed but, every time my system crashes, my husband says, "You should be using Firefox and that wouldn't happen."

We've shied away from Internet Explorer for a long, long time.

Loved your Emerson quote. In a way all your own, you followed his advice! ;-)

Best to Mr. Webster.

Thanks so much for sharing this info. We have Internet Explorer and Firefox. I am the ONLY one in the family to use IE; everyone else uses Firefox and grumble that IF I'd convert over I'd be happier. But I've been reluclent to change because I'm so familiar with IE and actually LIKE how you can arrange web findings in folders set up under Favorites. It works just like a manual paper filing system to my mind. I don't like tagging and bookmarking because I can NEVER find things. But I agree with you and others, that it so much slower than other options.

But I'm going to watch the video with an open mind.

I am with you, Rosemary. Explorer was so slow. My son finally talked me into using Chrome. I find, however, that if I have more than one browser open at a time, it also slows me down. So, I will open a lot of things in new tabs, but not in new windows. Also after encouragement from my son, the computer geek!
