Bless this mess . . .

I took these pictures yesterday to show the condition of my kitchen after working for 2 weeks with my carpenter/handyman around the cottage.

Every tool, rag, can of paint, etc. that I provided for various jobs ended up on my kitchen table. To eat lunch every day, we just shoved the stuff aside.

I have the weekend off and won't do much besides try to put everything away. He's coming back on Monday to help me put weather stripping on some exterior doors to make the house warmer. I've got a list going of other things I want to get done too.

We're on a roll and I can't let him go until the major things are done to get ready for winter. We are going to paint the exterior next spring. It feels so good to have accomplished so much in the past 2 weeks.

I would love to get all of my tools organized and in one place. I usually can find most things pretty easily which is a miracle since I have them in the basement, in the attic, in the pantry, in a kitchen drawer, in the garage, and sometimes in the car.

Hopefully, by the time you read this post I'll have this mess cleaned up. Thanks for stopping by the cottage. ♥Rosemary

Even in a mess, you have a WONDERFUL kitchen.
It's the same thing around here...it has to always get worse before it gets better.
Have a great weekend, Rosemary, and give Webster a hug for me!

Oh, Rosemary, you have no idea how great this made me feel, seeing your kitchen in total disarray as a result of your work outside. We always tend to think everyone else's house is perfect and we're just slugs because we can't keep up. Thank you. It made me feel as though you're one of us.

Messy kitchen aside, you have GOT to feel wonderful having accomplished so much. A house is very demanding and a major investment. We would be foolish not to want to protect it.

I best get on my horse. Mine is calling.

"Hello" to Mr. Webster.

Great kitchen, Rosemary! Love the openness and the ceiling and the dutch door and the farmhouse sink and... what "mess" were you talking about?

Good luck with the tidying up and thanks for posting this brave photo!
We can all tell it's a lovely room.
I have a similarly chaotic corner in our home office, currently known as Bondo central. Bondo is the stuff Beloved Husband is using to fill in some rotten window wood and the office is the best way of him getting outside onto the roof to do that. Needless to say I'm not thrilled about all the tools in the corner, but you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs...

Even in a bit of disarray your kitchen is inviting, beautiful and one that most of us envy.

Ah but this image shows great progress is being made in other areas Rosemary! MOTH has the same problem with his tools scattered to the 4 ends of the property too. He has a rant & a rave most days about not being able to locate something. The kids & I bought him a great big metal toolbox for the back of his truck, but it remains virtually empty years down the track. Heartbreaking really - I should remove it & give it to someone who'd appreciate it!

We almost stopped in to say hello the other day, but I see there would've been no where for us to sit with our snacks!
I will wait till the work is done and the cottage is winterized.
I look forward to a big kiss from Webster.
