Orphaned hedgehogs adopt cleaning brush as their mother . . .

Four tiny orphaned hedgehogs are snuggling up to the bristles of this cleaning brush - because they think it's their mother.

Daft as a brush: Infant hedgehogs cozy up to their adoptive brush mother.

Playtime: The baby hedgehogs enjoy themselves with their pretend mother.

This is one of the most heartwarming stories I've read in a long time. A true story much like a beloved Beatrix Potter tale and of course it takes place in the English countryside. The smells on the brush, which is used to sweep a yard, remind the hedgehogs of their natural habitat while the texture reminds them of their mother.

Thanks for stopping by the cottage for your daily dose of inspiration. Don't you absolutely love this story? Enjoy your Sunday. ♥Rosemary

Hedgehogs were the subject of one my earliest posts @ The Hedge. I do love them, even if the closest thing to them here is an echidna
(a spiny-anteater thingey!), not nearly as cute.
