Mark Twain quote about spring . . .

Illustrated Quote by Mark Twain posted on the first day of Spring. The snow has already melted and now my lawn is full of robins!

This is so true...especially today. I woke up to snow. Two hours later it has already melted. Such a strange and wonderful first day of spring.

What is it like in your neck of the woods?

Well, I think you're getting your variety in weather! I awoke to 8 degrees. And still 6" of snow left.
The first day of spring, indeed!

We have had blue skies and balmy weather here in northern California lately but, know what? We'd love to have some more rain. Not gully-washers, just some of those gentle, ground-soaking, fill-up-the-reservoirs kind of rains...supposedly they're coming this weekend. Fingers crossed.

Happy spring!

still cold - and cloudy - but Spring is in my heart

The past two days were more like Summer here in Southern California, and for the weekend we're expecting rain, but today is a perfect Spring day: sunny clear skies and cool breezes. My garden is loving it!

Here it is cold with a stiff sea breeze, but the sky is a soft blue like you only see in spring--it is sunny and the birds are always singing. if it snows, I know(like it happened to you) it is a fleeting thing...

Many people say this is the best time weather-wise here in South Australia - perfect one day, perfect the next! Although still warmish, it is turning autumnal.

Well, here in MN, the robins have been back for a week or two. There are a few dirty snowpiles here and there but for the mostpart the grass is brown, but it has been pouring all night. Sounds like it will last all week and maybe some wet snow Thursday. Ugh!
