Ralph Waldo Emerson Quote about Home Ownership . . .

I know the television in this attic bedroom is inappropriate for a quote by Emerson, but somehow I thought it was a room he would like.

That is a wonderful little attic room!! I can imagine settling in on the bed, reading and hearing the raindrops above.

cute little room! i would love to escape up there for an afternoon of peace and knitting and reading (not getting much of these nowadays days with three kids under 6 running around!).

I loved the quote from Emerson. It really struck a chord. Coincidentally, my brother lives in a big, old, two-story house and wrote this to me just the other day: ;-)
"I'm doing fine, no complaints. Always enough to do around here. Yesterday I repaired a faucet that didn't work right, fixed a lock as the key kept catching and did some needed painting in the basement. Fixed one outside door so it's tighter against the weather. Older houses are nice, but require constant care. Fun for the most part."

Yes, that room would be the perfect, cozy place to retreat from the world!!

I can also greatly relate to the quote - as I am currently in the midst of serious spring cleaning and remodeling!

Have a great day Rosemary!!

Just Cool Design...No, this is not my house. I saved this photo on my computer ages ago because I liked it so much. This room belongs to another lucky person!
